OUR STORY
From the Beginning . . .
Ceramica, Inc. was launched in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1988 by Dick Light. Dick owned a brick distributorship at the time, and while supplying the face brick to a new hospital in the area, the hospital administrators decided they wanted to sell engraved name brick to grateful patients and veteran employees to place in the lobby. It took the brick manufacturer 18 weeks to complete their order for 900 inscribed brick, following several orders for re-makes. After the last brick was placed, Dick said, “There has to be a better way.” From there, Ceramica was born.
Since then, we have increased our product offerings to include address stones, address boulders, signage, granite memorials, garden stones, pet memorials, temporary gravestones and specialty award items.
In 2005, we relocated to our present Indianapolis location at 6695 East 34th Street. Through this move we were able to increase our stock yard and production areas immensely. We also added two components that allow us to operate more efficiently: a blast room that permits us to engrave signs up to 11 feet in length and a bridge saw giving us the capability to cut our own stone to size and shape.
We take pride in being a local, family owned and operated business, and our commitment to high-quality, hand-engraved items remains strong. We prioritize the customer experience from beginning to end, and do our best to always be available via phone or email to serve you and your company in the best way possible. We look forward to fulfilling your engraving needs and creating objects of beauty, purpose and sentiment to last a lifetime.
