Honoring the Holocaust Memorial Wall with Our Engraved Brick Pavers
Ceramica, Inc., in partnership with North Georgia Brick in Cumming, GA, has provided some remarkable engraved brick pavers to the Gesher L'Torah Synagogue to create their Holocaust Memorial Wall located in Alpharetta, GA. The engraved brick pavers grace one of the six walls constructed for remembrance of the atrocities committed during the holocaust, where six million Jews lost their lives. This wall is the only one of its type in the North Atlanta suburbs, which allows for everyone of all faiths to confront the intolerance, bigotry and hatred that came from the holocaust. We hope that these engraved brick pavers are lasting reminders of honor and dignity to the Holocaust Memorial Wall.
The
engraved brick pavers we used to celebrate this memorial are unique. The side of the brick had the engraving versus the face as is typically done. We provided 740 of these engraved brick pavers, which were 4x8x1.5 in dimension. North Georgia Brick worked closely with Gesher L'Torah on the pavers. Several samples of the engraved brick pavers were provided and the details were worked until completion. They decided on the brick color and manufacturer, and chose a brown masonry stain to fill the deep engraved lettering. Normally the lettering is filled with black stain, so this was unique to the project. This wall gives people a striking reminder of how horrific things were for the Jewish people during the holocaust. We hope that our engraved brick pavers can give this monument that special element that unites many types of people.
